Get the most out of your indoor sessions with 2 new interactive home trainers designed to enhance your training experience without sacrificing a thing.
Fontaniva, Italy (September 5, 2019) – Laying months of customer curiosity to rest, Elite unveiled not one, but two new trainers in Friedrichshafen, Germany at Eurobike – 2019, for the upcoming indoor trainer season: Tuo and Direto X.
Compact, easy-to-use and quiet, Tuo is a totally interactive wheel-on home trainer with automatic resistance adjustment. Designed in cooperation with Turin-based studio Adriano Design, Tuo is manufactured to provide for an effective training tool in your indoor workouts or warming-up, while also offering a sophisticated piece of furniture with a sleek, Made in Italy design.
Powerful and beautifulduring use, yetelegant when stored, this home trainer is worth having in any living room because of its compact structure with a metal frame and beechwood legs. Beechwood is regarded as one of the best materials for furniture making because of its strength properties and high abrasion resistance. Despite its hardness, beechwood can also absorb shocks. This contributes in making Tuo the ideal tool to train effectively (even during the most challenging sessions), while having a perfect integration to your homethat seamlessly merges with any existing furniture.
In fact, Tuo stands out for its compact configuration that includes easily foldable frame and legs to ensure quick setup when you’re using it, and a small footprint when you’re done. Weighing just over 10kg,it’s light and easy to transport.
Tuo measures power output with a ±3% accuracy, simulating slopes up to 10%. This trainer also introduces a new algorithm developed by Elite in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, Deutschland, to ensure a power value calculation based on real pedaling variations. To do so, the algorithm doesn’t just use speed, weight and slope data, it also considers the effect of the energy stored by the flywheel during sudden variations of speed.
With a new graphic look in shades of chrome, the new Direto X sportsa major overhaul of the company’s best-selling trainer- the Direto.Building on the success of his predecessor, Direto X stands out as one of the best trainers worldwide in terms of power, accuracy and responsiveness thanks to its innovative built- in power meter, the OTS (Optical Torque Sensor). As of today, Direto X is the only trainer on the market that is able to actually measure your power output via built-in power meter alongside the Drivo II and the original Direto.
The OTS measures the power output in the Direto X trainer with increased ±1.5% accuracy compared to the old Direto’s ±2%, and allows gradient simulation of up to 18% compared to the Direto’s 14%. These features place the Direto X among thetop of Elite’s home trainersand reliable home trainers in terms of accuracy, reliability, power measurement and performance.
Tuo and Direto X are both interactive trainers with ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth FTMS, meaning that they both interact with any app, software, computer, smartphone and tablets via iOS, Android, OSX and Windows in order to obtain total customization and interactivity for your indoor training sessions.
