The Temple University alumnus returned to Philadelphia as former Eagles Connor Barwin and Rodney McLeod joined thousands of runners for the second stop of the national series
PHILADELPHIA – July 20, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Diplo brought his Run Club back to Philadelphia on Saturday, leading thousands of runners through a 5K before turning Lincoln Financial Field into a post-race dance festival.
The Grammy-winning DJ and producer, who attended Temple University, took the start line alongside former Eagles Connor Barwin and Rodney McLeod before performing on the field at the home of the Eagles. The event supported Barwin’s Make the World Better Foundation, which works with local communities to improve public spaces and expand access to recreation.
Before the race, Barwin addressed the crowd and thanked runners for supporting the foundation’s work in Philadelphia.
“If you don’t know, this run supports MTWB, Make the World Better, to make sure every kid has a safe place to play in the city of Philadelphia,” said Barwin, who finished the 5K with his dad. “So shout out to Diplo and all of you for supporting MTWB.”
Austin Gabay, 24, won the men’s 5K in 15:37, while Alexis Jones was the top female finisher in 19:02, giving the morning a competitive edge before the event shifted fully into festival mode.
Inside the stadium, hip-hop pioneer DJ Premier opened the post-race concert, setting the stage before runners poured onto the field for Diplo’s set.
Thousands stayed to dance, take photos and celebrate inside one of the city’s most recognizable sports venues. The day’s most unusual endurance performance may have belonged to Matt Valaros, who held a plank side stage throughout Diplo’s 90-minute DJ set.
The Philadelphia race marked the second stop of Diplo’s Run Club’s 2026-27 national season, following the tour opener in Denver the previous weekend. The series heads to Chicago this fall.
