Category-redefining event returns to Bend, Ore. with updated triathlon course
WHAT: LeadmanTri Bend, presented by Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE: LTM), returns to Bend, Ore. on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Voted the Best New Race of 2012 by Triathlete magazine, the LeadmanTri Bend features two race lengths: 250K and 125K. Since its inception in 2011, LeadmanTri has provided athletes with an ultra distance option that places more emphasis on the lower impact cycle and swim stages, and less on the high-impact run portion. Both professional and age group divisions are offered for all distances, as well as a relay category. Participants as well as families and friends can look forward to a post-race celebration at the finish in NorthWest Crossing including an all-day farmer’s market, Deschutes Brewery Beer Garden and live music.
This year, LeadmanTri Bend updated its course for the 2013 race in order to eliminate traffic congestion and improve course safety. The new course improves the overall experience for participating athletes, while still showcasing the beautiful scenery in and around Bend, Oregon. The updates include a new finishing point in the NorthWest Crossing neighborhood, a run course that takes place almost entirely on paved trails and better access for spectators.
