(Atlantic City, New Jersey) October 3, 2014 – Challenge Atlantic City 2015 is announcing an exciting addition to next year’s triathlon. DELMOSPORTS, the team that brought the Challenge Family to Atlantic City for its first race ever in the United States, is now introducing a HALF DISTANCE (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) triathlon to run in conjunction with the FULL DISTANCE (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run).
“Adding a half distance triathlon to our already world-class full distance triathlon is a natural progression in the evolution of this fantastic weekend of racing in Atlantic City,” said Stephen DelMonte, Race Director.
Challenge Family, the worldwide phenomenon of triathlon racing, entered the United States this past June 29 when more than 1,500 athletes tested their resilience by participating in Atlantic City’s first ever Challenge AC Triathlon. The main event was a 140.6 mile race which included a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run. This was the first time Atlantic City hosted an international event of this caliber. Challenge AC Triathlon showcased Atlantic City as the premier location to host international sporting events. The 2015 Triathlon will take place on June 28 and will climax in a weekend celebration of East Coast lifestyle, cultural and community activities and sports for the entire family. Athletes, friends, and family can expect to experience the best of what the Greater Atlantic City area has to offer including, boardwalks, casinos, vineyards, shopping, dining and entertainment against a stunning backdrop of sea, sun and sand.
