CCN Sport Partners with The Happy Tooth Foundation to Launch “Yes I Can!” Youth Racing Program

The Happy Tooth Foundation, a 501(c)3 public non-profit has joined forces with CCN Sport to form a youth racing program for 2019.  The Happy Tooth Foundation seeks to empower children to reach their full potential by building four pillars of success: food security, physical wellness, self-esteem and literacy. Embodying the first three pillars, sport provides the perfect outlet for The Foundation to achieve its objectives.

This program will enter its pilot year with many goals in mind. While CCN Sport will still operate its Pro level race team, with the help of The Happy Tooth Foundation, the program will add a youth-based program aimed to raise money and awareness for the Foundation’s “Yes I Can!” Youth Development Programs. The mission of the team will be to give members a support system and a fun racing environment where they can learn and understand that their efforts and performance are helping raise money for a great cause. We will call this “Skating For a Cause.”

“This Program’s members will play a vital role in helping set the standard for what we hope can be a bigger partnership between Happy Tooth Foundation and the sport of Inline Speed Skating in years to come,” said CCN Sport Head of US Operations Dan Heid.  “We will set both high goals and standards in order to raise awareness and donations for The Foundation.” Heid was especially excited about the growth opportunities he feels the program will provide his skaters. “Empowering youth to help the local community while doing something they love will give a sense of purpose outside of them self, and can help build a great worth ethic for the future.”

The Happy Tooth Foundation’s Director of Development, Laura Jorgensen, echoed these sentiments saying, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with CCN Sport on this project. Our goal is to empower children so a structure that allows us to do that while enabling those same children to empower others less fortunate than themselves is something we are behind 100%. We think this novel approach will provide opportunities for so many young children to learn and grow, both as athletes and human beings, and we are thrilled to a be a part of the process.”

Applications will be posted directly on the Happy Tooth Foundation website, as well as on Facebook. Kids 14 and under can complete and send a resume to be considered for the program. Six to eight members will be selected up front, leaving spots for mid-season acquisitions, as well as set a goal for kids to earn a spot via donations to The Foundation.
