The Definitive List of the Best Races in America crowns new Marathon champion

Austin, TX – BibRave, the running industry leader in grassroots digital marketing, recently announced the 2019 edition of The BibRave 100: A Definitive List of the Best Races in America. Today at an awards luncheon at The Running Event, the company revealed the final results from The BibRave 100, including the Top Five Marathons, the Top Five Half Marathons, and the Top Five 10 Miles or Less races.

 The Flying Pig Marathon was voted the The Best Marathon in America, nabbing the top spot for the first time! Runners praised this “detail-obsessed” event that embraces its adorable pig theme in every way possible. The event also earned a spot in the Best Themed Races category as well as the Best Weekend Experience category. Finally, Flying Pig’s dedication to the planet as well as its runners earned this race a coveted Green Lion Award, which recognizes innovators in sustainability, presented by Recover Brands.

For the second year in a row, the One America 500 Festival Mini-Marathon took home the top prize in the Half Marathon category, while also earning a nod in the Best Weekend Experience category. The AJC Peachtree Road Race maintained its dominance in the 10 Miles or Less category for the third year running.

The BibRave 100 also included a new recognition this year – the Redefine Possible Award, sponsored by AfterShokz and presented to a leader in race safety. The 2019 Redefine Possible Award went to Ted Metellus, Vice President of Events and Technical Director of the TCS NYC Marathon at New York Road Runners, for his tireless dedication to facilitating and improving the safety of all races in the running community.

All races listed on The BibRave 100 received The BibRave 100’s plush mascot, Benjamin, along with multiple other awards from The BibRave 100 sponsors. Each race received real-time event photos from sponsor EnMotive, a custom plaque, pin, and medallion designed by Ashworth Awards, a pair of AfterShokz Aeropex headphones, and a Recover Brands t-shirt, which uses recycled PET (plastic) and upcycled cotton to make their 100% recycled apparel. As part of their 2019 sponsorship of The BibRave 100, MYLAPS Sports Timing also created “Race Director Central,” a portal on BibRave.com that provides key insights and resources for races and race operators.

Races on The BibRave 100 received a digital awards badge to add to their website, signifying that their race has been listed as one of “The Best Races in America.” Recipients also received a digital press kit, which included publication templates, social media verbiage, and suggestions for fun ways to showcase and share images of Benjamin across social networks.
