Bermuda Tourism Authority Partners  With The Boston Triathlon

Boston’s Only Triathlon Takes Place July 27-28, 2019

BOSTON – July 9, 2019 – Just a two-hour flight from Bermuda, Boston is one of the primary markets for visitors to Bermuda. With this in mind, the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) , the official destination marketing organization for the island, has signed on as the tourism partner for the 2019 Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon.

Scheduled for July 27-28, 2019, the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon brings together athletes of all ages and abilities to compete at the South Boston waterfront. Participants from around the USA and abroad are expected to compete in Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons, the Boston Corporate Cup competition, and Kids Day on Saturday July 27th.

The Olympic and Sprint distance competitions combine a swim at Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Carson Beach, a bike ride on DCR William Day Boulevard and a beautiful run along the South Boston waterfront. Additional information is available at

Bermuda has a significant history of hosting a diverse range of world class sporting events including marathons, triathlons, open water swimming challenges and the world’s most famous sailing regatta, the America’s Cup. For the past three years, Bermuda has hosted an ITU World Triathlon Series event, which will take place again on April 18, 2020.  In 2021, the Island will host the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final.

“Events such as the Boston Triathlon help us to shine a spotlight on Bermuda, leading to positive impacts on tourism,” said Kevin Dallas, CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority. “We want everyone to know that Bermuda is a perfect destination for endurance sports, with perfect race temperatures and crystal clear waters.
