Ben Collins and Helle Frederiksen Lead Life Time Tri Pro Series Heading Into Texas

Pros to compete for $30,000 cash purse at Life Time Tri CapTex

Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE:LTM) will host some of the world’s best triathletes on Memorial Day during the Life Time Tri CapTex, the second race in the Life Time Tri Pro Series.

The winner of the Life Time Tri Cap Tex will take home part of a $30,000 cash purse and earn points toward their overall standings as they work toward the series finale, Life Time Tri Oceanside in October.

Among those competing for the title and a Texas victory are 29-year-old Ben Collins (USA) and 36-year-old Hunter Kemper (USA).  Collins leads the series following an impressive showing at the Nautica South Beach Tri in Miami on April 7. Kemper, winner of the 2012 Life Time Tri CapTex (formerly known as the CapTexTri) holds the third place spot in the series.

In the women’s professional division, Denmark’s Helle Frederiksen will be competing in the Life Time Tri Cap Tex. Frederiksen is currently leads the series after her first Life Time Tri race at South Beach.

The overall 2013 Life Time Tri pro series cash purse includes $250,000 in individual race awards and an additional $50,000 cash purse awarded to the series winner. To qualify, pros must start at least three events, including Life Time Tri Oceanside, with the top five events counting towards their overall standings.  Results and standings are available at

The Life Time Tri CapTex will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27 at Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas. The event includes sprint and international distances, First Tri distance and sprint and international distance relays. The race also serves as the USA Paratriathlon National Championship.  Registration is available online at
