Believe in the Run Launches Rebuilt Site with Free Accounts, Community Grades, and the Pigeon Chat

September 18, 2026

The same independent reviews, same writers, and same scoring. New tools to save shoes, grade gear, and get personalized recommendations. Plus, new data infrastructure for brand partners.

BALTIMORE, MD (September 18, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ –  Believe in the Run (BiTR), the independent running media outlet known for its honest, run-tested shoe reviews, announced the launch of a completely rebuilt website. The new platform introduces free reader accounts, community shoe grades, the Pigeon (a virtual shoe assistant), a smarter Shoe Finder, and real-time pricing directly on reviews. The site’s foundation is unchanged: the same independent, run-tested shoe coverage that built BITR’s reputation.

Readers can now create free accounts to save shoes they’re curious about, build a personal shoe wall, grade the shoes they’ve run in, log their miles, and retire a pair when it’s done. Community grades from readers appear alongside BITR’s editorial take on every review, on the same S-to-D scale, so anyone researching a shoe can see how it’s landing with people who actually bought it.

The Shoe Finder is now faster and more precise. For runners who want more tailored guidance, the Pigeon gives personalized recommendations and, for signed-in users, remembers past conversations and preferences so its guidance sharpens over time. The assistant knows only what users choose to share; personal data is protected, and advertising relationships have no influence over reviews or recommendations.

Reviews now surface real-time price and availability directly on the page. Retailer buttons show the current price and, for many shoes, which sizes are in stock at the moment a reader lands on the review.

“The question we get more than any other is: what shoe should I buy next?” said Meaghan Murray, Managing Partner of Believe in the Run. “Reader grades, the Pigeon, real-time pricing: all of it was built to better answer that question.”

What it means for brands and partners

The new platform also gives brand partners a level of insight the running industry hasn’t had access to before. Aggregated, anonymized demand insights are built and launched with select partners, drawn from real shopper conversations, Shoe Finder searches, and page views rather than surveys, covering what runners are searching for, asking about, saving, grading, and keeping. Each brand can see details on its own models alongside category-level market context, through an explorer, plain-language questions, and an API.

Measurement gets cleaner too. Every click from a BiTR review to a retailer now carries a unique identifier through the affiliate networks, tying results directly back to the review, the placement, and the surface that drove them. Product data is captured consistently, with specs and attributes on one scale across the entire reviewed catalog, so comparisons across brands are apples to apples. And as the reader community grows, aggregated mileage, retirements, and the reasons behind them will offer a durability picture, per model, that no lab test can provide.

“Our audience isn’t browsing casually. They’re searching for the latest updates, tracking miles, retiring shoes when they’re done,” Murray said. “The data we’re sharing with partners comes straight from those runners: not a survey, not modeled estimates, actual runners making actual decisions.”
