BaseCamp Launches Integrated Performance Ecosystem for Endurance Athletes

September 4, 2026

New model connects endurance coaching, strength training, performance nutrition, mental performance, and bike fit through one coordinated athlete plan

CARLISLE, Pa. (September 4, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — BaseCamp Endurance Coaching today announced the launch of the BaseCamp Performance Ecosystem, an integrated athlete-development model that connects endurance coaching, strength training, performance nutrition, mental performance, and bike fit through one coordinated plan.

The Performance Ecosystem was created to solve a common problem in endurance sport: athletes may receive valuable guidance from a cycling coach, strength specialist, nutrition provider, and bike fitter, but those professionals rarely work from the same plan. Without coordination, recommendations can conflict, training stress can be poorly timed, and the athlete is left trying to connect the pieces.

“The purpose of the BaseCamp Performance Ecosystem is integration,” said Tim Cusick, founder and Head Coach of BaseCamp. “Athletes do not need five separate plans competing for their time and energy. They need one coordinated performance plan. We built the Ecosystem so strength, nutrition, mental performance, and bike fit can support the athlete’s on-the-bike training, recovery needs, and goals.”

ONE ATHLETE. ONE GOAL. ONE CONNECTED PLAN.

The Performance Ecosystem is not simply a referral network or a list of recommended providers. Each service is delivered by an experienced specialist and coordinated with the athlete’s primary coach so strength, nutrition, mental performance, and bike fit all support an athlete’s training plan, recovery needs, event calendar, and long-term goals.

The initial Ecosystem includes four integrated services:

Strength Training, led by Menachem Brodie and Lori Thomson

The Strength Training program helps cyclists improve movement quality, durability, resilience, strength, and comfort on the bike. Both Brodie and Thomson are expert strength coaches who specialize in working with endurance athletes and cyclists. The program begins with a movement assessment followed by a personalized strength plan based on each athlete’s experience, movement needs, available equipment, cycling workload, and event calendar.

Strength sessions are coordinated with the athlete’s cycling goals so they support, rather than compromise, key workouts, recovery, and event preparation.

Performance Nutrition, designed by Dr. Namrita Brooke and delivered through Hexis

The Performance Nutrition program was designed by BaseCamp Head Coach Dr. Namrita Brooke, a registered dietitian, sports nutritionist, endurance coach, and applied exercise physiologist.

Through the program athletes receive access to Hexis, an adaptive nutrition platform that uses their training demands, schedule, and goals to provide personalized fueling guidance. Brooke helps athletes understand the recommendations and apply them to daily nutrition, workout fueling, hydration, recovery, and event preparation.

“Nutrition is most effective when it reflects what the athlete is actually doing in training,” Brooke said. “By connecting the nutrition strategy to the athlete’s workload, recovery demands, and key events, we can provide more relevant guidance and help the athlete consistently support both health and performance.”

Mental Performance, led by Carrie Jackson

Mental Performance work is led by Carrie Jackson, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and a provider listed in the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Mental Performance Directory.

Athletes work directly with her to strengthen the psychological skills that influence preparation and competition, including confidence, motivation, emotional regulation, focus, resilience, and performance under pressure. Sessions can address specific races, training setbacks, performance anxiety, changing motivation, or the demands of returning from injury or disappointment.

Bike Fit and Position Support, led by Lorri Lown and Brian Hammond

As longtime bike fitters, Lown and Hammond can work virtually or in person with athletes to improve position, comfort, efficiency, and performance. Assessments consider the athlete’s body, movement, equipment, riding demands, and target events.

Relevant findings are shared with the athlete’s coach and considered alongside comfort, physical limitations, power production, training feedback, and performance goals.

THE PRIMARY COACH REMAINS AT THE CENTER

Within the Ecosystem, the athlete’s primary coach remains responsible for the overall performance plan.

The coach understands the athlete’s training history, current fitness, feedback, life demands, priority events, and long-term goals. When additional expertise may help, the coach can connect the athlete with the appropriate specialist and coordinate that work with the larger training strategy.

The process follows three steps:

  1. The coach identifies an opportunity. Training analysis, athlete feedback, performance trends, physical limitations, or an upcoming goal may reveal where additional expertise could provide meaningful value.
  2. The athlete chooses the support. The athlete decides which services are appropriate based on their goals, needs, timing, and budget.
  3. The specialist delivers the service, and the coach integrates it. The specialist works directly with the athlete while the primary coach ensures that the recommendations support the broader plan.

The services within the Performance Ecosystem are optional and added only when they can provide meaningful value. The goal is not to surround every athlete with more programs. It is to give athletes access to the right expertise at the right time, with each service supporting the same performance direction.

THE COMPLETE ATHLETE, ASSEMBLED

For athletes, the Performance Ecosystem creates a simpler path to comprehensive support without losing the personal relationship with their primary coach.

Strength training can be coordinated around key bike workouts. Nutrition guidance can reflect actual training demands. Mental-performance work can address real races, setbacks, and confidence challenges. Bike-fit findings can be considered alongside comfort, power production, physical limitations, and training feedback.

The result is clearer communication, better-aligned decisions, and a more complete approach to endurance performance.

“Performance does not come from one system working alone,” Cusick said. “It comes from making good decisions across training, recovery, nutrition, mindset, movement, and equipment. The Performance Ecosystem helps us connect those decisions around the individual athlete.”

The BaseCamp Performance Ecosystem will be available to all athletes receiving BaseCamp coaching. More information about services, pricing, and access is available at https://www.joinbasecamp.com/ecosystem.
