DENVER (May 7, 2015)—CEO Challenges, a unique program that offers C-level executives the opportunity to flex their fitness muscles at select high-end athletic events, today announced Baker Marquart LLP as a CEO sponsor for the 2015 Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race. As a CEO sponsor Baker Marquart LLP, a national trial lawyer boutique based in Los Angeles, will provide two professional bike mechanics for the use of all CEO Challenges Leadville 100 MTB athletes. The two bike mechanics will be on hand all weekend to assemble bikes, tune them race ready, make repairs on course, and pack up after the race.
The Leadville 100 MTB, hosted in the rarified air of Leadville, Colorado at 10,000 feet and climbing to the Continental Divide, is one of the most grueling and difficult one-day mountain bike races in the world. The 2015 event takes place August 15, 2015 and includes CEO Challenge competitors from Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
The C-level executive athletes will compete on course against 20 fellow executives that balance business, travel, social obligations, family and training, and 2,000 additional competitors in the taxing one-day event. Together, the 20 CEO competitors run businesses with nearly $300 billion in annual revenue and more than 300,000 employees world-wide.
“Baker Marquart is proud to sponsor CEO Challenge athletes at the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race,” says Ryan Baker, founding partner, Baker Marquart, and two time Leadville participant. “Leadville presents one of the most demanding endurance events in cycling, offering each of us a new forum for excellence. Having worked to support clients in a variety of business settings, it is with great pleasure that Baker Marquart now supports the CEOs in their extraordinary endeavor to conquer the ‘Race Across the Sky’.”
“This is our fourth year offering a CEO Challenge event at Leadville,” says Ted Kennedy, president, CEO Challenges. “Each year our slots sell faster and faster, and our competitors travel from all over the world to see if they have what it takes to finish this grueling test of endurance in the allotted 12 hours.”
