In spite of COVID-19, $25,000 raised for local charities

Cape May, NJ (September 21, 2020) – As events around the country have been challenged to keep going amidst the uncertainly caused by COVID-19, many local charities which rely on the support of these events have been significantly impacted as well. DelMoSports is pleased to report that through converting a number of its signature events to a virtual platform, it has successfully engaged its athlete community to participate in their virtual events and support some of its key local charity partners.

Through the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa Virtual Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon, over $11,000 was raised for the Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling Program (BCYC), a signature program of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. BCYC works with inner city youth in Philadelphia, ages 12-18, to build healthy habits, leadership skills, and independence through the sport of cycling. Over 150 youth take part in BCYC.

The Virtual Atlantic City Triathlon (aka TRI AC) raised $6,200 for the Let Us Eat, Please, a New Jersey organization whose mission is to help fill the food insecurity gap during summer months for children who rely on the federal meal program through their schools.

Finally, through the Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Law Virtual Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon & 5K, $7,000 was raised for the Lunch with Lynch Foundation, a Wildwood, NJ based organization facilitating unique learning experiences and educational opportunities for kids in Wildwood and surrounding communities, both in and out of the classroom.

“We could not be prouder of our athlete community who, during these very tough times, have remained engaged with us and our charitable partners,” said Stephen Del Monte, Founder/CEO of DelMoSports, LLC.  “It shows they recognize the power and impact of our events in these local communities and that we continue to work hard to help those who are a little more in need. We are hopeful that 2021 will see us all back together in Philly, AC and Wildwood, racing DelMo style and supporting these important organizations.”
