Record-setting sellout of over 23,000 registrations utilized Race IT platform
Washington DC – May 28, 2014 – A new record was set this week when The Army Ten-Miler (ATM) 2014 event opened registration Wednesday morning at 10am Eastern Time, and sold out all 23,500 general registration spots in approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. The event sold out in 9 ½ hours in 2013. Registration for the event took place via Army Ten-Miler’s online race registration partner Race IT.
“We saw unprecedented demand for the Army Ten Miler event” said Tim Dunne, General Manager at Race IT. “The Army Ten Miler is one of the premier running events in the country and Race IT is proud to be able to support their customer demand. We saw 50% greater demand than last year and processed a record number of registrants.”
The Race IT technology platform delivers an enhanced suite of customized registration capabilities, volunteer management, performance marketing tools, web hosting and design as well as state of the art race results technology for race directors and their participants. To maintain peak performance, Race IT has built a hybrid cloud hosting infrastructure that allows it to easily scale capacity to handle “rush” events which typically sell out quickly.
“The race continues to gain in popularity and sells out in record time year after year,” said Jim Vandak, race director. “We are grateful to all of our loyal runners for supporting the Army’s race. They are the true spirit of the sport.”
