Unique 5K Course To Give Runners Behind-the-Scenes Access to Experience Aquarium Exhibits Along the Way
LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 27, 2018) — Motiv Sports and The Aquarium of the Pacific announced today they will be continuing their partnership for another three years, naming the Aquarium of the Pacific the title sponsor of the 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Kids Fun Run. In conjunction with the JetBlue Long Beach Marathon on the weekend of October 6-7th, the Aquarium of the Pacific has proudly sponsored the Kid’s Fun Run since 2010 and expanded their partnership to the 5K Run/Walk in 2015.
The Aquarium of the Pacific 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 7:00am, with the 1-Mile Kids Fun Run starting immediately after in waves from 9am -11am. Both events start and finish outside the Aquarium, with the 5K participants actually getting to run through the facility and stop at animal encounter points along the way! Once finished, 5K runners may enjoy the aquarium for a discounted fee of $5.
“One of the greatest highlights of the 5K run is being able to run through a world class facility like the Aquarium of the Pacific. We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Aquarium and look forward to another great event,” says Bob Seagren of Motiv Sports.
“The Aquarium of the Pacific is excited to continue its partnership with Motiv Sports to host some of the most unique races available in Southern California,” says Cecile Fisher, VP of Marketing, Aquarium of the Pacific. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage our community, introduce new audiences to ocean education, and support health and wellness.”
Participants will also have the opportunity to donate to the Aquarium of the Pacific’s education and conservation programs during the registration process.
