(Logan, UT — May 24, 2018) Altra completely redesigned its Torin 3.5 road shoe by expanding it into two unique styles: mesh and knit. Check out Altra co-founder Brian Beckstead explaining the features of the Torin Knit vs. the Torin Mesh and celebrate Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 6 by going for a run in one of these new styles.
The Altra Torin 3.5 Knit features a comfortable engineered knit upper for a sock-like fit. An Altra innovation for the knit shoe is the new A-Strap on the inside, like an internal harness, to keep your foot securely in place mile after mile. Though the upper completely changed, everything underfoot remains the same for the plush fit you know and love. A 28 mm stack height and weights of 8.7 ounces for men and 7.2 ounces for women makes this high-cushion shoe perfect for 5Ks to marathons. Color options for men are black/charcoal, gray/yellow and orange/blue, while color options for women are black, bright pink and teal.
The Altra Torin 3.5 Knit is $135.
The Altra Torin 3.5 Mesh is the classic Torin version that’s familiar, with a fresh, two-toned mesh for a snappier look and enhanced breathability. Altra’s new seamless, integrated tongue design reduces material build-up on your forefoot. High, but nimble cushioning with a snugger mid-foot fit makes this a perfect training, racing and everyday shoe. This version keeps the Torin’s 28 mm stack height and weighs slightly less than the knit at 7.9 ounces for men and 6.9 ounces for women. Color options for men are black, white/gray, blue/gray and neon yellow/black and color options for women are gray/white, blue/yellow, pink and black.
The Altra Torin 3.5 Mesh is $125.
The Torin 3.5 Knit and Torin 3.5 Mesh are available now on www.AltraRunning.com and at your local specialty running retailer.
While working at a running store, Altra founder Golden Harper was frustrated that modern running shoe technology caused poor running form and had not decreased running injuries. His passion to create a shoe that followed the science produced Altra’s FootShape™ toe box and Zero Drop™ platform. Since its founding in 2011, Harper and co-founder Brian Beckstead have grown Altra from one to 25 shoe styles, winning multiple Editor’s Choice awards and distribution in more than 60 countries.
