30,000 riders to compete at GFNY Global Cycling Marathon Series 2019/2020

GFNY offers BE A PRO FOR A DAY experience around the world

NEW YORK CITY – The Global Cycling Marathon Brand, GFNY, continues to grow, offering 18 world-class cycling events around the globe.

GFNY, the largest Cycling Marathon Brand, features a total of 18 GFNY World races in the 2019-2020 calendar season. They include the GFNY World Championship in NYC and five regional championships in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and the Middle East – Africa.

The GFNY season gets under way on August 4th in South America on notably one of the toughest GFNY courses, at GFNY Brasil, set amidst the colonial charm of Conservatória.

One month later, on September 9th, GFNY Portugal hosts the GFNY European Championship at the Portuguese Riviera resort of Cascais.

The second GFNY Philippines will be held in Iloilo on September 22. The local Filipino excitement for cycling will provide a great experience at the GFNY Asian Championship.

The month of October opens with the inaugural GFNY Ecuador in Manta on the 12th. The second GFNY Panama on October 21st is located in Playa Blanca, away from the bustle of Panama City, where visitors will be spoiled with the ideal combination of sport and leisure.

After a two year absence, GFNY Argentina has now moved to Argentina’s cycling capital, San Juan. Each GFNY Argentina rider will truly get to Be a Pro For a Day on November 3rd.

The 6th annual GFNY Cozumel on November 10th will host 3,200 riders at Latin America’s largest cycling race. It’s a perfect end-of-season challenge and warm-weather getaway – and a great GFNY party both on, and off, the bike.

On November 25th, the 3rd edition of GFNY Chile starts out from the renowned Veramonte winery and takes riders through vineyards and along the Pacific Ocean. The now world-famous Muro de Tunquen is the ultimate rider challenge with an incline over 25%.

GFNY’s 2020 year starts in Asia. On February 24th, GFNY Bali, set in Klungkung, takes riders past thousands of temples and up to the crater rim of Mt Batur, one of Bali’s volcanoes.

A full March Calendar opens on the 8th with GFNY Monterrey. The race begins from the famous Cintermex, from there riders will race through the heart of Monterrey and finish in beautiful nature at the top of Chipinque Mountain.

A week later, GFNY Uruguay takes place in Punta Del Este and hosts the GFNY South American Championship. GFNY Uruguay is the country’s only cycling marathon.

The sixth annual GFNY Colombia takes place on March 22nd. A sold out field of 3000 riders will compete on a challenging course at altitude, including a climb up to La Cuchilla, making GFNY Colombia the world’s highest gran fondo.

The 6th edition of GFNY Italia, held in the heart of Tuscany, offers a tough course on historic ground. 25km of the 110km-long race are held on strade bianche, Italy’s centuries-old unpaved white roads.

On April 7th, the second GFNY Republica Dominicana is the spring GFNY beach destination with the start and finish in the heart of Punta Cana. The course is fast and undulating, in tropical conditions.

The third edition of  GFNY Jerusalem hosts the Middle East – Africa Championship on May 8th. The course on fully-closed-to-traffic roads takes riders on a historical experience past famous sights before finishing at the Israel Aquarium.

On May 19th, riders from over 90 countries come together for the world’s most international cycling race, in the birthplace of GFNY, New York City. 2019 will be the ninth annual GFNY World Championship NYC.

On June 7th, the second edition of GFNY Santa Fe offers a challenging race course at altitude, with a long climb to the finish at Ski Santa Fe.

The third edition of GFNY Costa Rica takes place on July 5th. Riders race on an undulating course with several steep climbs through lush tropical rainforest at the base of Arenal Volcano and along Lake Arenal.

Campagnolo GFNY World Championship NYC

The 10th annual Campagnolo GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 17, 2020. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from 100 countries. Athletes take on a challenging 100-mile route from NYC to Bear Mountain to Fort Lee to compete against each other, the clock and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.
