1,500 Local Women Participate in Debut of Life Time Athleta Esprit de She 50th & France

“Happy hour” 5K had record attendance and drew thousands of women to Edina Ladies’ Night Out; Registration still open for Esprit de She Duathlon, Cycle Tourand 5K/10K

Life Time Athleta Esprit de SheCHANHASSEN, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2013) — On Thursday, July 25, 1,500 women hit the streets of Edina to participate in Life Time Athleta Esprit de She – The Spirit of Her Race Series to kick off the annual Ladies’ Night Out, hosted by the 50th & France Business Association. Women of all ages, shapes, sizes and athletic abilities ran, walked and chatted their way through the women’s only 5K and celebrated their success with champagne after they crossed the finish line.

“We are so proud of each and every woman that crossed the finish line at Esprit de She on Thursday night,” said Athleta Esprit de She Brand Director, Lindsey Kurhajetz. “This was our sixth Esprit de She event but our first in Minnesota. To host it in our own back yard was an incredible experience and to have so many women attend and support each other is what Esprit de She is all about!”

After the event, thousands of women took to the streets in Edina for shopping, pampering from LifeSpa and the event’s signature activity, champagne drinking. Ladies’ Night Out featured live entertainment, dining and numerous sidewalk sales from more than 50 participating stores.

Designed exclusively for women, the national Athleta Esprit de She Race Series features 18 fitness-inspired “happy hour” 5K and 10K runs, cycle tours, duathlons and triathlons for every pace and passion. In addition to the July 25 event in Edina, registration is now open for Athleta Esprit de She events in Minnesota including a duathlon on Aug. 1, a cycle tour on Aug. Aug. 15 and a 5K/10K run in Maple Grove on Sept. 19.
