Race Day Events, in cooperation with Old Sugar Distillery and Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, is proud to announce the inaugural The Humdinger 5K Run/Walk. Registration for The Humdinger 5K opens March 15th at 8:00am, with the event taking place Saturday, October 13th, from noon until 5:00pm at the Old Sugar Distillery, located at 931 East Main Street in Madison, Wisconsin.
This fun-themed race blends Wisconsin traditions and charity for a run that participants will love. Along the 3.1-mile route, runners will encounter three separate challenges encompassing traditional Wisconsin food and drink. At station one, runners must eat a cooked brat with bun before they head out to station two, where they will consume five ounces of fresh cheese curds. At the third and final stop, runners will enjoy sixteen ounces of cold Wisconsin Brewing Company beer or a non-alcoholic beverage of their choice.
“Partners like Race Day Events and The Humdinger 5K, a Wisconsin Traditions fun run, transform the lives of Wisconsin children with critical illnesses by helping grant wishes that are awe-inspiring, uplifting and everlasting. We are grateful for this partnership and the impact it will make, and we are excited to be part of this new Madison race,” Rebecca Hildebrandt, Madison Regional Director, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin
The first 100 participants to sign up will receive a discounted registration rate of $35. Each participant will receive a The Humdinger 5k finisher medal, snifter glass, one-of-a-kind ¾ sleeve race shirt and a beverage token. Old Sugar Distillery will be hosting a can’t-miss post-race party that includes beverages for sale, a live D.J. and yard games. Local food carts will also be on site offering food for purchase.
