USMES unveiled a running program today to complement their triathlon, cycling and adaptive cycling programs. The purpose of the running club is to promote the sport of competitive endurance running for veteran and active military members. “I look forward to achieving our goal of having runners representing USMES in every major competitive race in the US,” said USAFR Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Bill Jacobus, Executive Director, USMES. Jacobus went on to say, “I am particularly excited about the upcoming running camp in Colorado Springs, where our members will train alongside Olympic athletes.”
USMES will spend 2015 building a competitive team through focus events, races, camps and clinics. Key events for the year include:
US Air Force Marathon. Saturday Sept 19 – Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio
Army 10 Miler. Sunday Oct 11 – Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Marathon. Sunday Oct 25 – Washington, D.C.
USMES Running Camp. 23 to 26 July – Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO
