Creator of Acclaimed Training System for Endurance Athletes Expands Library of Workouts
SINGAPORE – Apr. 21, 2017 –The Sufferfest, creator of the world’s most comprehensive indoor training system for cyclists and other endurance athletes, today announced the world premiere of its latest workout, Getting Away With It. Adding to their library of 42 structured interval workouts, the new session features stunning footage of the French Pyrenees provided by The Col Collective.
The workout was created by world-renown coach Neal Henderson at APEX Coaching in Boulder, Colorado, and is now available to subscribers of The Sufferfest Training Centre App, as well as for members of the more than 160 licensed Sufferfest cycling studios and gyms around the world.
“We wanted to include more workouts that target base fitness as a supplement to our more challenging interval sessions,” said David McQuillen, CEO of The Sufferfest. “Getting Away With It focuses on moderate-intensity efforts that will help athletes build their fitness and refine their form without going too far into the red.”
Getting Away With It is a 47-minute workout featuring five sub-threshold efforts between four and eight minutes long. Each effort corresponds with a climb up some of the most scenic mountains in the French Pyrenees, including the Arcalis, the Cap du Long, and the Luz Ardiden. Riders have an expert tour guide in Col Collective’s founder, Michael Cotty, who provides insight into the unique character and history of each climb. Recovery periods between the efforts include a series of focus drills designed to help riders refine their pedaling technique at a range of cadences.
“The goal of The Sufferfest Training Centre has always been to help people become more complete athletes. Alongside our structured training plans and our complete yoga for cyclists video series, the addition of Getting Away With It to our massive library of cycling workouts gives athletes another invaluable tool to build fitness while helping them really dial in their form and maximise their pedaling efficiency,” said McQuillen.
