Pensacola, FL – January 4, 2017 – Team MPI (Multisport Performance Institute) announces a new high-altitude destination triathlon camp in scenic Steamboat Springs, Colorado, led by Coach Heather Gollnick, 5x IRONMAN Champion. The camp will span Memorial Day weekend, May 26 – 29, 2017 and feature sessions on the bike and run courses of the Tri the Boat USAT Rocky Mountain Long Course Triathlon Championship.
The Steamboat Springs Tri Camp weekend includes swim sessions in Bald Eagle Lake, a private water ski lake, that will focus on starts, sighting, and close contact swimming with critiques from coaches on paddleboards. The run training features technique work and video taping with trail and track options. The bike and brick workouts are on the scenic low-traffic roads that surround Stagecoach Lake. The camp will also address the mental side of the sport, drawing on material from Gollnick’s book Triathlete EQ: A Guide for Emotional Endurance.
This camp is ideal for athletes who seek an immersive and comprehensive multisport training experience under the leadership of a champion triathlete and the knowledgeable staff of Team MPI coaches. The location will benefit athletes who plan to race at altitude in locations like Steamboat Springs or Boulder.
“The incredible beauty of Steamboat Springs provides the ideal backdrop for us to work with triathletes to help them discover new levels of performance, motivation, and enjoyment,” says Gollnick. “Under the eyes of experienced coaches and with the fun of training alongside others, a lot can be accomplished in one weekend at the Steamboat Springs Tri Camp.”
In addition to the Steamboat Springs Tri Camp, Team MPI also offers race prep long course tri camps in Lake Placid, New York and Panama City, Florida. For more information on this camp as well as other Team MPI camp offerings, visit www.teammpi.com.
