Run for Pie at the Annual Coaster Run at Knott’s Berry Farm

March 13th, 2012

Benefiting the Speech and Language Development Center

Calling all fitness enthusiasts – or those who just want free pie! On March 25th, participants of the Coaster Run 5K, 10K and Kids Run at Knott’s Berry Farm only have to run or walk 3.1 miles to snag a piece of Knott’s famous Boysenberry Pie at the finish line. The annual event benefits the Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC), a special education school in Buena Park.

“Knott’s Berry Farm is proud to partner with the Speech and Language Development Center for their annual Coaster Run,” said Knott’s General Manager, Raffi Kaprelyan. “The Center helps so many children, not only in Orange County but Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties as well, with multiple disabilities.  Their services and programs are truly needed in our community and we are happy to assist them in achieving their fundraising goals.”

“The Coaster Run is a signature event to raise money for the school. The students absolutely love it. The classes have the opportunity to engage in a friendly competition to raise money for their class and win fantastic prizes,” said Muff Elstran, spokesperson for SLDC.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of this event that benefits the kids of SLDC,” said Race Director Jonathan Pauley of Renegade Racing. “The course is very flat and fast with beautiful views of the park – it even passes underneath the Silver Bullet coaster. The kids get so excited about the 1K Fun Run, which travels through Camp Snoopy!”
