Service provides a simple process to obtain an annual music licenses for events through the RRCA's group agreement with BMI
Arlington, VA – The RRCA has negotiated a simple and cost effective group music license with the performing rights organization, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc). This service developed between the RRCA and BMI is a first-of-its-kind in the running industry and provides RRCA member clubs, events, and event management companies with a simple process to obtain an annual music licenses for events through the RRCA’s group agreement with BMI.
Music, played or performed, at an event is considered a public performance. As such, a music license to a song’s performing rights must be acquired from an organization such as BMI for its use to be legal.
Similarly structured to the RRCA’s group liability insurance program for clubs and events, the RRCA/BMI music license agreement has a clearly outline License Fee Schedule. Fees assessed are based on total participation for events that an RRCA member owns or operates and the license can be purchased for fall races occurring from now through December 31, 2017. RRCA members will be able to renew or obtain their BMI licenses for 2018 starting on or around the 1st of October.
