MYLAPS, the world leader in automated sports timing & live performance insights, is happy to announce Mike Schmitz as the new Managing Director for the Americas. As from yesterday Mike will lead the Atlanta based team of more than 25 strong in bringing market leading technologies for motorsports and active sports to customers and partners in North and South America and the Caribbean.

Mike has been involved in the running industry since 2004 and is a seasoned executive in the print industry. He has been actively participating in the sport of running from an early age, as a 2000 NCAA Cross Country All-American and University of Wisconsin-Platteville record holder in 10,000 meters and distance medley relay.
Besides Mike is a motorsports enthusiast and visited many Indy 500’s, Brickyard 400’s along with races in Vegas, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Atlanta and Darlington. He has a degree in Industrial Technology Management with Minors in Drafting/Product Design and Sales/Service from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Prior to joining MYLAPS, Mike Schmitz served as an Event Media Consultant at emedia group where he serviced the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and RunDisney among many other prestigious road races. He was also co-owner/consultant for Vickery Speed Shop, a leading Impact Racing Master Distributor in Anderson, SC.
