Video series to highlight views and implications for companies on sponsorship, branding and social media merging together during London games
MILWAUKEE (June 21, 2012) – Building on a relationship that began in January 2012, Hanson Dodge Creative (HDC) and U.S. Olympian Nick Symmonds today launched the first in a series of videos highlighting a never-before seen perspective into the life and mindset of an Olympian. The series will provide a glimpse into the mind of a world-class athlete on the topics of sponsorship regulations, branding, social media and even his perspective as an active outdoorsman.
The video series arrives just prior to what many are calling the first personal Olympics, where fans can tune in to the events they want and truly create a personalized experience using on-demand capabilities. It’s also being dubbed the first social media Olympics, as more so than in previous games, athletes will be able to connect directly to their fans with vehicles like Facebook and Twitter.
The first in the series of videos debuts just days prior to the United States Track and Field Association’s 2012 Olympic Trials, where Symmonds will compete for a spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. He is the leading 800-meter runner in the U.S., holding the fastest time in the 800-meter race this year with a time of 1:44:32, set in late May at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore.
Symmonds was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team that competed in the Beijing games.
