Nearly 10,000 runners expected for scenic 13.1 mile run and 5K at Jackson Park
WHAT: The 18th annual iconic Chicago Half Marathon and Hyundai Hope on Wheels 5k, produced by Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE: LTM), will take place Sept. 7, 2014. The events will host nearly 10,000 participants on a scenic run that starts and finishes in Jackson Park and features the south lakefront and Jackson Park Golf Course and beautiful views of the Chicago skyline.
Half marathon runners will wind through the beautiful Hyde Park neighborhood and University of Chicago campus. The course then takes runners along Chicago’s south Lake Shore Drive, taking in the views of Lake Michigan, Chicago skyline and the Science and Industry Museum campus before a triumphant finish at the golden Statue of the Republic.
The event is also the last in the Chicagoland Half Marathon Series, which challenges runners to run either 26.2 miles or 39.3 miles in two or three Life Time events including:
- Chicago Spring Half Marathon – May 18, 2014
- Michelob ULTRA Chicago 13.1® Marathon – June 7, 2014
- Chicago Half Marathon – September 7, 2014
