Sister race to the Honolulu Marathon is the largest Half Marathon in Hawaii
Portland, OR – BibRave, the new marketing solution for races and endurance brands, recently announced a new partnership with The Hapalua – Hawaii’s Half Marathon, which takes place April 8, 2018 in Honolulu.
Since 2013, BibRave has used its large audience, influence, and network of running bloggers, the BibRave Pros, to drive more awareness and registrations for The Hapalua’s sister race, the Honolulu Marathon. Through a mixture of social media promotion, newsletter call-outs, blog reviews, race reviews and an enhanced presence on BibRave.com, and sponsored live reads on The BibRave Podcast, BibRave will help promote what makes The Hapalua worthy of a place on runners’ race calendars.
In addition to breathtaking scenery, The Hapalua offers exciting race elements like The Hapalua Chase, where the best local runners from Hawaii get a head start on the pros, who then chase down the local runners and vie for a first-across-the-line prize of $5,000.
“Honolulu is a beautiful location, but as a destination event, we need creative and innovative marketing solutions to attract runners from all over,” said Fredrik Bjurenvall, Marketing Director for The Hapalua. “BibRave and the BibRave Pros have a proven track record of delivering more runners and excitement for the Honolulu Marathon, so we’re really excited to use that approach for The Hapalua.”
The Hapalua is the largest Half Marathon in Hawaii, taking runners from the start in Waikiki, through Honolulu and around iconic Diamond Head State Monument. There is no time limit and all finishers get a beautiful medal, freshly made malasadas, and shave ice to celebrate their accomplishment.
“The Hapalua really is Hawaii’s Half Marathon,” said Tim Murphy, Co-Founder of BibRave. “By attracting some of the most elite runners in the world, incorporating friendly competition among those elites and local runners, and accommodating runners of all speeds with no cut-off times, they really are catering to all types of runners – local and visitors. The Hapalua definitely embodies the Spirit of Aloha.”
